Executive Director's Message

Yes, we can change the world and make it a better place for everyone. But change requires commitment and a desire to make that difference. I have travelled the world and seen all kinds of development projects. Several years ago, I headed some of these projects. They resulted in positive changes. I often noticed the lives of many who deserved better were untouched by these international funded projects. Once I was a visiting professor in Bulgaria, and a young man stood up in the middle of my presentation and said: “I disagree with some of your comments because we don’t have the power to change things. What can we do here at my university? The world is too complex”. Indeed, he had a point. When I was a student in London, the world was torn apart with wars and famines. Like many of my friends, we felt helpless. But as Mahatma Gandhi reminded us we must accept failures and have hope, that will drive us to remove injustices. The Alladin Foundation (AF) is rooted in this philosophy. We are change initiators and drivers. Our activities are directed towards making a difference. Whether it’s a literacy project or financing a child’s education, AF’s vision is for a better world. I hope you can join us in our endeavours.
