Activities
The Alladin Foundation supports a range of social and educational programs. The activities are categorized as follows:
Educational projects
The AF works with several organizations and institutions to support small educational projects, such as:
(a) The Aisha Jeewa Alladin Educational Fund supports small scale projects on girl’s education and women entrepreneurs. An annual essay competition is held to honour Aisha Alladin’s vision on gender equality. The essay competition is open to girls aged 15-20. A prize money is awarded to the three best essays. (b)The Alladin Foundation supports women seeking to start a small business. A start up fund is available to eligible projects.
(c) Scholarships in support of the needy.
Literacy programs
Literacy is key for social and economic advancement. The Alladin Foundation promotes literacy and literacy programs. The AF supports initiatives such as:
- Donation of books and supplies
- Training of learners
- Workshops
Health concerns
A healthy population is a productive population. The AF supports health and wellness programs such as:
- Campaigns for public health
- Safe water
- Children in distress
- Health education
Nutritional programs
Nutrition is essential for healthy living. The AF encourages community gardens and organic produce. It supports activities such as:
- Hydroponic gardens
- Distribution of food packs to the needy
- Community gardening
